The house, renovated in 2006, stands just outside the little village of Bernartice, in a wide valley between the Giant Mountains and the Vrani hory. This part of the Giant Mountains is the highest in the Czech Republic, with impressive mountain ridges and extended woods, rugged steep slopes and ice-cold valleys, plateaus, thermal springs, marshlands and mountain meadows with rare plants. The biggest attractions here are the famous tourist towns like Janské Lázně and Žacléř, as well as the mountain of Sněžka, the highest peak in the Czech Republic (1602 m). The holiday house is situated on a quiet road with a view of a hill. The house is surrounded by a 3000 m2 large garden with a furnished terrace and a barbecue. There is a children´s pool (3,66 x 0,91m) in the garden. There is a grocer’s shop in Bernartice for your daily groceries. Furthermore, the tourist town of Žacléř has a wide array of shops and restaurants. The distance to the Polish border is 6 km. You can store your bikes, play equipment, etc., in the basement of the house. There is a separate garage by the house and also a parking place for two cars inside the hedge. There is also a parking lot located 50 meters from the house.
On the ground floor there is a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. The living room is 40 m2 and contains a large table with chairs, a lounge suite, a fireplace and a satellite TV. The kitchen-dining area has all the modern conveniences like a dishwasher, coffee maker, electric kettle, 4 ceramic hotplates, an electric oven and a microwave. The kitchen area is separated from the dining area by a bar. In the dining area there is a table and chairs. The bathroom is equipped with a shower and two washbasins. There is a separate toilet. The bedrooms for 2, 4 and 6 persons are each furnished with a double bed. Other beds are bunk beds. A baby crib and baby chair are available. One of the bedrooms has a balcony. The second bathroom has a corner bath, a shower and a toilet.
This area is ideal for hiking and cycling. Signposted routes begin directly in the village and offer splendid views of, for example, Sněžka, the highest peak in the Czech Republic (1604 m). There are enough facilities here for an active holiday: swimming in the modern outdoor pool in Trutnov (14 km), swimming and surfing in the reservoir of Bukowka in Poland (10 km), playing golf in Mladé Buky (17 km), enjoying the waters of the ferrous warm mineral springs (29.6 °C) in Jánské Lázně (German: Johannisbad; 22 km), or horseback riding in Žacléř (9 km) and Pilkinov (20 km). Interesting sights include: the castle in Vrchlabi (39 km), the rock formations of Adrspach (24 km), Broumov (37 km) with a convent and landscape park, Kuks (34 km) with a wonderful picture gallery and Dvůr Králové nad Labem (32 km) with the largest zoo and safari park in Eastern Europe. In Poland you can visit Krzeszow (14 km) with its convent while in Chelmsko (13 km) there are weavers’ houses and the "12 Apostles" to admire. The flea market of Jelenia Gora (46 km) is also worth a glance. Go shopping in Trutnov (14 km) with its beautiful architecture, souvenir shops, supermarkets and restaurants. A day in Prague is also not a problem at only 2 hours drive away.

There is also a parking lot located 50 meters from the house. It is strongly recommended to bring snow tires and skid chains with you.

The ski area in Žacléř (7 km) has 2 centers. One has short slopes, especially for beginners and children, with a ski school, also for little ones. The other center has 4 slopes from light to heavy, for skiing and snowboarding. The total length is 6 km. Snow is reasonably guaranteed and evening skiing is available. The prices are still much lower than in Western ski resorts. Most important facilities: ski and snowboard rental, ski school, parking at the ski center and [horse] sleigh riding. In Žacléř itself there is a bowling alley, sauna, solarium, disco, restaurants, etc. Fans of cross-country skiing can indulge in their favorite sport right from the house. Snow-covered hiking and cycling routes run from the house in all directions. In Žacléř there are 5 prepared ski runs, light as well as heavy, following the border of Poland, in total 50 km long. Other ski centers with excellent facilities include: Mladé Buky (17 km; ideal for lessons and with a half-pipe for snowboarding), Jánské Lázně (22 km) and Pec pod Sněžkou (35 km). In Trutnov there is an ice skating rink. A day doing something other than skiing? Enjoy the waters of the ferrous warm mineral springs (29.6 °C) in Jánské Lázně (German: Johannisbad; 22 km) or go shopping in Trutnov (14 km) with its beautiful architecture, souvenir shops, supermarkets and restaurants.
Bedlinnen is inclusive. Please bring your own hand- and kitchentowels. Pets are not allowed. You are requested to wear your own carpet slippers or house shoes indoors. No smoking in the house. Wifi internet is included in the price. Two crates of firewood is included in the price.The costs for the final cleaning have to be paid in advance.
